Vesica Real Estate grew from founder Jennifer Welch's belief that real estate should do more than improve properties — it should create places people are proud to call home while generating lasting value for those who invest in them.

Jennifer Welch discovered her passion for real estate and revitalization at just 19 years old. When considering career options, her father — a doctor who was a real estate investor — suggested she explore property management.
That encouraged her to ask a neighborhood property management company for an internship. That single conversation with her dad, and the opportunity that followed, set her on a path toward building Vesica Real Estate.
Belhaven Residential
launches in Jackson.
Jennifer launched Belhaven Residential on January 2, 2006, with her father as her first client. As a young woman entrusted with managing a portfolio of more than 300 rental homes and apartments while earning her MBA from Millsaps College, she quickly learned that real-world leadership, restoration, and relationships were every bit as important as business strategy.
Over the coming years, Jennifer continued to expand her knowledge and refine her approach, pairing sound investment principles with a deeply personal commitment to the people and neighborhoods behind every property. Guided by her father's philosophy to "leave places more beautiful than you found them," she focused on transforming overlooked properties into places where communities could grow and thrive.
Redbud Village
launches in Meridian.
Redbud Village opened its doors in 2018, bringing the company's people-first approach to a growing community of residents in Meridian and East Mississippi.
Vesica PCJ Realty launches in Hattiesburg.
In 2023, Jennifer's work expanded South with the launch of Vesica PCJ Realty, serving Hattiesburg and helping build communities throughout the Pine Belt.
Vesica Real Estate: a new name for a shared vision.
The COVID years reinforced Jennifer's belief that success is built through people as much as properties.
That philosophy shaped her vision for the future. This included not only building a team of trusted partners, but creating opportunities for the residents, neighborhoods, and communities her work helps strengthen.
"I had spent a decade investing in homes. I now wanted to invest in people." It also inspired a growing focus on impact investing — real estate opportunities that seek to create positive community impact alongside financial returns.
In 2025, Jennifer partnered with Dean Julius, Mackie Belenchia, and Chrystal Dumas to bring Belhaven Residential, Redbud Village, and PCJ Realty together under one trusted name: Vesica Real Estate.
What began with one person's commitment to learning property management has grown into a company built on relationships, community revitalization, and long-term stewardship.
